Reminders

Dear Parents,

Well, we have completed our first few weeks of Kindergarten!  We survived the BIG cafeteria, enrichment, new rules and routines and even Dismissal!!  Here are just a few reminders:

Green Folders- They come to school everyday.

Rest-This is a LONG day; please make sure your child gets enough rest.

Independence-We encourage independence, especially with the self-help skills (i.e. packing and unpacking their backpack, buttons, belts, opening lunch items. etc.) Their faces positively glow with pride when they “do it by themselves!!”  This builds self-esteem and the desire to try other things!! We need your help by reinforcing this at home.  Thanks!!

Red Folder/Homework-The Red folder should be returned on Thursday and if there is any written homework, it is also returned on Thursday.  Please take out any other papers and keep at home! 

Lunch Money-If sending lunch money; please send in a Ziploc,

envelope or zipper purse. They will keep it in their backpack until lunch time. This helps avoid “lost” money!

Time-The first bell rings at 7:45 AM and the tardy bell rings at 8:00AM.  Dismissal is at 3:00PM.

Absences- If your child is absent, please make sure to write a note explaining.  Your child is considered absent if they arrive after 9am, unless they have had a doctor’s appointment and bring a doctor’s note to school.

Conduct- Our school uses the BG PRIDE agreements:  Persistence, Respect, Internal Control, Dependence and Excellence.  After 2 color changes, the rule/rules that are “forgotten” will be listed in the Green Folder.  Otherwise, an empty Green Folder means an A-OK day!!
