Dear Parents,
I wanted to send out more details of all the events getting ready to take place.
December 14 (Wednesday) will be our class party. I will contact my room mothers and find out all the details. In the past I have collected $5.00 from each student and the room mothers use that to get food from Chick-fil-a or pizza. Then other parents help bring in cookies for dessert, some fruit and veggies and juice boxes.
Also on this day I would like to do a gift exchange. Each student brings in a gift of $10.00 maximum value. Please make sure it is wrapped and labeled with boy or girl. There is no need to put a name on it. Then on the day of the gift exchange, I make a girl pile and a boy pile and label the gifts. The boys pick from the boy gifts and the girls pick from the girl gifts. They cannot pick their own gift. Then each student one by one opens their gift, and finds out who brought it. Then they will personally thank that person. This is done until all the gifts are open. It is really fun. If you are interested in donating an extra gift please make sure it is labeled for boy or girl. Extra gifts have come in handy in the past in case a student is unable to bring in a gift. I really like all students to participate and not be left out.
December 15 (Thursday) will be pajama Day and Movie Day. I believe I will be showing Polar Express. I will probably bring in some hot chocolate and some small treats for the kids.
December 16 (Friday) This will be the day we make Gingerbread Houses. I will be collecting milk cartons from breakfast and lunch, because we use them for the base of the gingerbread houses. I always need parents to help out with this activity, and makes it less chaotic with more help. I will be making a list of items we need and I will send home an item with each student to get. If for some reason you are unable to get the item I send home please let me as soon as possible so I can make arrangements to either get them myself or have another parent get it.
I will also have the students make some Christmas crafts I bought at Michael’s. So this should be a fun filled week and very busy. Thanks for all your help and I hope everyone has a great holiday break and New Year.
